Creative Volcano

So with all my classes (only 3, but it feels like about 8) I've come up with some really cool designs that I'm still tweaking, but thought I'd show to you! Now, If you remember a while back I did a ballerina princess pattern with my niece in mind. Here's a re-purposed version...
I've made them into little logos for different dress companies. These are each different versions, so i'll have to pick one of them to keep going with. I really like the ones on the right, but overall I like them all and I'll see what my teacher has to say. Next I have some doodles I did for illustration that was just for fun, Now I've made them into logos for kids' shampoo...
I really really like how these have turned out so far, but as I said before they will probably change some before they are completely done. My favorite is the t-rex :) But I think I'm going to give him a body also. Last but not least (and really not last but I don't want to put up everything) is the wimbereley pie company. Now me and the pie company have gone round and round and once again we're at each other's throats. But I've changed the logo and I feel a lot better about it...
The colors will change to red, black, tan and white. Now all I have to do is see what my professor thinks about it and then I'll redo my whole book with all my stuff from aprons to menus. Well, now I have to go work on everything else in the world I have. But I love you all and I will see my family this weekend! :)

Stressfull Semester

I wanted the Lord to help me trust him more and put more faith in Him and boy has he. This semester is the hardest by far I've ever been through. I'm literally either sleeping, eating, at the gym, at work, or working on homework. I get excited for the weekend just because it's more time that I get to work on my homework. I was sitting in church on Sunday and I was thinking of different ways to redo their logo. This is a problem. I can't go to sleep at night because my mind is going a million miles a minute thinking about design and it's the first thing I think about when I wake up! I'm literally eating sleeping and BREATHING design. Now, it's kind of good, but kind of annoying. I just want to relax sometimes and I can't because I have another 15 things to get done. I'll be home the weekend of the 23rd and I'll work extra hard that week just so I don't have to worry about anything when I get home. I'm also now able to come home for my precious niece's birthday :) I'll have to find a very special present!! Well I'm going to go to class now but here's a little Hi from my baby boy...
:)
And I forgot but here's my drawing for Ginny

it's not a great picture but I'm pretty proud of how it turned out! :)

Love all of you so much and miss you a ton

Coding

Well, this is what I look like after I design and code a website until the wee hours of the morning...
I had Poncho as some company but I was still a little loopy. But after my hard work I finally got my two pages designed and working :)

there they are!! Most of the things have rollover effects but I can't show those ha. When I buy a domain name (which I'm required to do and costs from $60-$100) I'll be able to actually have my websites up for people to see. Well, that's my design stuff for right now, me and Taylor are gonna go hang out :)

12 weeks

Starting today I am beginning a 12 week program to get more muscle and slim down my fat. Me and Janelle are doing it together and I'm not gonna lie I'm pretty nervous about it. This 12 week program is from Jamie Evans a bodybuilder and spokesmodel for Bodybuilding.com. The first phase (which is one month) I will be strictly only doing weight training with no cardio. 4 to 5 days a week and then some rest. I'm eating a lot of egg whites and a lot of veggies and no processed food. I will need constant prayers to continue this workout and to not want to go binge at Pluckers with fried twinkies. I'm on a multivitamin (which I blend up with my smoothie), protein powder, fish oil, and amino acids (which is in my protein powder). I'm hoping to have this be a life changing transition so that I'm healthier, looking better and have a longer life. I'll keep you all updated about how it's going and if I notice changes I'll let you know with pictures. I've taken my before picture and hopefully in 3 months there will be a good change :)

Also I've found a new church that I really like called Christ Community Church. I took Taylor yesterday and hopefully she continues to come with me and my new friend Joanna. I'm also looking into volunteering for the children's church there too :)

I miss all of my family so much and look forward to sometime coming home. I'll need to in order to give Ginny her drawing, which I should be finished with in a few days. Once it's done I'll post a picture. I love all of you, and God bless each and every one.

Reunited Weekend

Last weekend I got to spend it with Janelle. :) After her shenanigans in Italy and on a cruise it was about time I haul her butt down here to spend a little best friend time. I've finally realized who my true friends are. Which actually I've found out I have about 3. Janelle is truly my best friend and sister in Christ and I can't ever be thankful enough that we made it through 8 years of friendship and we're still strong. I constantly thank the Lord that I have a strong christian sister next to me in life and we have already promised to stay that way for the rest of our lives. <3

FINALLY

I have FINALLY gotten a new job :) As of yesterday I am officially a UPS employee and my last day of the devil's burger place is on Aug. 11th. I'm so so grateful to the Lord for answering this prayer that I've been praying for months and months. Thankfully I've been able to start UPS while I'm still employed by Ruben. He only gave me 3 hours this week (out of spite) and so that leaves me open to train over at UPS at the same time. I really like all the people there and my boss is super nice. Also this past weekend I have moved into my new little apartment!! I absolutely love it :)

Here's the kitchen with the backsplash that is so adorable.

The living room is my FAVORITE! it was already painted orange, my favorite color!! you can see Poncho enjoying his new home :) and the artwork is courtesy of jake!

my bedroom,

and my MONSTER closet. I've fit my dresser in here along with ALL my clothes. That means this closet is pretty darn impressive.

So I cooked my little dinner for 1 last night and it turned out delicious.
spaghetti noodles with chicken, squash, mushrooms, asparagus, and savory seasoning :) it was a veggie party and the chicken was invited!  I'm sure I will cook it again.
Well I love all of your faces and remember that i miss you!!

Loaded Veggie Omelette

I've been trying to eat a lot healthier and following by an eating plan on womenshealthmagazine.com. This is what I had for breakfast! It was delicious. It's got mushrooms, bell peppers, and tomatoes in it. Also I improvised and put some avocado out there to eat with every bite and that was a very wise decision. Well unfortunately this is a very short post because I have to be at work in 13 minutes. i love you all my sweet sweet family :)

Happy Creating

With my new class I've actually produced two pieces I'm extremely happy about and hopefully will be able to use in my final Exit Review coming in December. One is an editorial we had to do about some pictures of people we didn't know. We had to make up a story and create a 2 page intro to an editorial spread.

The next one was a book cover. Now, just to let you know, even though I absolutely love books, I am HORRIBLE at book covers. Idk what it is, but the last two that I've done I've absolutely hated and want to burn. So when we had to do another one I was pretty intimidated. I chose a book of poems called Hotel Insomnia by Charles Simic. They are very dark, and surreal. But here is the book cover I did for it.
:) I did all the stuff myself. Burnt the paper, burnt the match, and photographed the match. I'm really proud of the way it turned out and it will hopefully make it's way into my final portfolio.

On the work end I applied yesterday at UPS and they said they had a girl they had been talking to but that she hadn't shown up yesterday when she was supposed to. I'm praying that God will place me there because I really like the guy that owns it and I feel like I would fit in there and do a good job.  SO keep the prayers coming that I will be able to find another job and quit my current one. I love you my sweet family :)

Summer School

So I've been frustrated with Ashley because she wasn't posting...but then again I haven't either! So here's an update.

I'm currently looking for a new job because I'm fed up with everything Ruben has been doing against me. I don't want to list it all here but I'm sure most of you have heard bits and pieces. There is a receptionist job at a vet that pays 13.50 an hour so I'm applying there and also subway.

I took poster design in Summer 1 and got three pretty good projects done. Here they are!

We had to make a poster for a do it yourself project using a QR code. If you scan the code with your iphone on my poster it will take you to a website for the project :)

This was a book cover that had to fold out to a poster. so it folds out to be an over with a cupcake tin in it. it's for the book Henry's Sisters. I don't like it that much

this was a poster that popped out. It was for lego architecture series. I chose the seattle space needle. so when you fold it out the space needle pops up :)

Also I'm working on a little something for myself
:) I'm going to put color in it but this is the outline. little princess as an illustration :)

Soon I move into my new apartment and I'm really excited. I'm gonna go to Ikea and get some new stuff and that's ALWAYS fun!!

Designing Outside of School

While having some time off I got a little antsy and wanted to start designing again. I'm taking my next web design class in the fall and I've started to design a website on my own. I want to be able to fully make it work and everything in the future but right now I just have what I want it to look like. So far I only have the home page and what everything would look like when you roll over all the buttons. Here they are...

The first is what the website would look like when you opened it. The second is after you rollover each button or the picture. Hopefully I'll learn how to make a different picture come up each time you refresh the page, but as of right now I don't. Ultimately though that's what I want to happen when you open up my website each time. I also worked on another little project for Adah, but she came a tad earlier than I anticipated and therefore I didn't finish it. But this is what it was going to look like ish.
A little birth announcement! Maybe I'll have more time for whichever baby decides to bless us next and I can actually finish one :) Well I have to go to summer school (booooo). Have a glorious day!

A Month Off...

I'm finally out of school for the spring. I have a month until I have to start school again on June 1st. It's GLORIOUS! I truly don't know what to do with myself having half a day to do absolutely nothing until I usually have to go to work. I've got 34 hours this week so I'm slowly becoming rich girl again. Which is good because I need to go get Poncho some flea medicine :(. Now that I'm done with class I can show some of my final stuff that I had to turn in.
First is my website I designed and actually made work.

These three pages are the home page, the multiple article page, and the single article page. When you hover over the navigation on the top and the tags on the side each turn to white. I was pretty proud of this website.

Next is my Illustration project I did which was a How Boys are Different than Girls Book. I illustrated it all.
Last is something I did for Ruben for the Broiler. It's a menu/poster thing that is for the concession stand we have at 5 mile dam. I'm pretty proud of it too and he liked it so that's a plus.
well that's all I've got for today. I started my Beth Moore bible study today and I'm so excited :) I love you all!!

Like father like daughter...

I LIVED! I survived through my third traithlon and I'm pretty proud of how easy it was (not super easy at all...but easier than I thought it would be.) It took me 1 hr and 40 mins to complete and it only took me 5 mins and 20 secs to finish the swim :) Now my father on the other hand finished in a little over an hour (the same time it took me about to finish the bike alone!) But he's the one to thank for getting me on this track and actually completing them. Also my WONDERFUL mommy who taught me how to swim and also motivated me :) I just wish my mom had been able to do it because I was number 364 and she would've been 365 so we would've been able to do the whole thing together (as long as she didn't leave me in the dust!) I'm thinking of doing the Monster Tri in October, but we'll see if I have the money to pay for it!

After a weekend of relaxation...

I went with Jake to Corpus this past weekend to spend some time with his parents and I had a wonderful time. It was extremely relaxing and I didn't work on homework the WHOLE time and didn't worry about anything. I loved every second of it. Poncho had fun, even though when we got home to San Marcos we had to give him an extensive bath because he picked up a decent amount of fleas :( While we're on the topic of my little man, he did fine through his dental cleaning and all his vaccines and exams. We were a little worried because he has a heart murmur and heart worms and it's a little risky to put him under anesthesia, but he did really well :)

Why don't we throw in a goal for today....

Today's Goal: Thou shall not go into depression because your artwork didn't get into the show.

I put my hands drawing into the Student Show the other day to see if I could get in, and I'm not gonna lie I was pretty darn positive about it that I would get it. How wrong I was. I checked and found out yesterday that I did not get in. And I got REAL down. All yesterday I let Satan whisper in my ear and tell me how bad of an artist I was and how delusional I was to think that I was good enough to compete with all these more amazing students in the program here at Txstate. But after reading my bible this morning I realized that I need to be comfortable with my art, and if I like what I made, then that's enough for me. I don't need to constantly impress others and show it off. And now I'm a lot better about it.

Here are two more shirts I've designed.

Hope you enjoy them :) Have a glorious day
